When I first started teaching, there was no requirement for regular communication with parents, outside of problems or parent-teacher nights. Then we got websites, and we put planning information and make up work there. Then we started sending emails home. Just last week, we had a meeting about parents not reading the emails we sent, so we were going to implement a system of texting parents (in addition to emails and websites).
I'm curious how other teachers handle parent communication and what you have found.
