Is it a requirement for all HIST and GOVT classes in public and higher education to spend an entire week talking about racial segregation? (Asking from Texas)

Not saying it's good or bad. I've just re-learned plessy v ferguson and brown v board of edu. about six times now. I am in community college and have nearly completed my associates degree (which requires both halves of american history and fed and state government). We had the same classes at the high school level in order to get your diploma. Even in texas government, I'm relearning about racial and de facto segregation. Essentially I'm wondering if it is a regulation of some kind, maybe at the district or state level?
