Thoughts? high Standardized test scores = low taxes & high property Values

I'm wondering about your thoughts on a concern we're having in our school community and its relationship with the tax base and property owners.

The thought process is this: high standardized test scores (ACT, SAT, AP) helps define a desirable school district that allows the value of homes to increase. The higher the student test scores, the better this is for the value of a home.

Are there any studies that examine this?

Are we putting too much stress on a small group of students to perform well on standardized tests only to help improve housing prices of the entire district? Plus, can these same home-owners elect members to the school board that cut funding to essential resources to students like mental health or special education?
