Group Projects

The first time I did a group project was in the second semester at college. The recitation professor from the BUS 1000 Introduction to Business class gave the class a group project instead of a 25-question quiz. It was easy as I did was to introduce a company. In the case, my group chose Nike. All I did is just introduce the important people in the company.

The second time I did a group project was in the recitation class for ACC 2101 Financial Accounting class at my 6th semester. We were given case studies and answer the question about the company we were provided. All I did was to answer the question about if the ledgers were consistent.

As a Marketing major, instead of a final, there will always be group projects and quizzes if any, usually done online. I took one Marketing class MKT 3605 Consumer Behavior and business class MKT 3000 Introduction to Marketing as I can take Consumer Behavior as a co-requisite with Introduction to Marketing. In MKT 3000, two members in my group dropped from the class, making my group a two-man show. I added the information, while my partner did the design and reviewed the information. In MKT 3605, we were made into groups of seven, where one of us dropped due to a family hardship, where she can get exemption. Another member yelled at me to get my work done. In the end, I got a B- and B respectively.

This semester, there are three group projects for MKT 4540 Branding, MKT 3600 Marketing Research, and MKT 3520 Advertising and Marketing Communications. In MKT 4540, the group project is just an extra credit assignment. In MKT 3600, we had to do a survey, but I have been pushing my group members to get assignments done at times, as attendance wasn't mandatory and the class is easy as pie. In MKT 3520, since several members in the group are Business Communication majors, a liberal arts major, they know what to do.

In the future, I am expected to continue to have final group presentations in lieu of final exams as a Marketing major. Good think that in one of my classes, the grade is based on two group presentations. When I take MKT 5750 Marketing Strategy and BPL 5100 Business Policy where I am expect to do group projects.
