Can you approach Waldorf as a "normal school"?

Hi there, we're starting to evaluate pre-k options with an eye on potentially staying through 6-8th grade for our kiddo. There's a Waldorf school that's extremely convenient to us, one neighborhood over. Just had an open house visit today and the campus is lovely, with a relatively reasonable tuition. I was impressed and pleasantly surprised at the "normalness" of it all. My wife is spooked that it's too crunchy and some of the more "cultish" aspects of the origins of the pedagogy. The anti-vaccine movement making Waldorf school their stronghold is a bit spooky, I'm not gonna lie.

So I guess my question for those with experience there or general observations, can you send your kid there and have a good experience without "drinking the cool-aid"? Or is it one of those things where you either commit or don't bother. Opinions really seem to vary wildly, so I guess I'm looking to see if a middle ground even exists.
