Canadian Abroad, currently teaching ESL, needing clarification about getting a teaching license.

Hi all,

I am an ESL teacher of three years in Vietnam looking to make the move into International Schools within the next year or so. This Covid-19 situation has given me ample opportunity to research what my next move should be, but I need some clarification. I currently hold a Celta and a Bachelor's in English Literature.

The obvious move is to return to Canada and finish a B.Ed, but I am very comfortable in Vietnam right now and would rather not return to Canada if possible. From my research, it's also a very time consuming process. Teach Now seems to be a very popular choice for prospective teachers who want to gain a teaching license, but being Canadian, can I received a DC teaching license and expect it to open as many doors as if I was an American citizen? It seems like many job descriptions ask for a teaching license from your home country. It's been very difficult to find answers to my specific situation, so any insight would be valuable.
