I have taught for 6 years in a public high school in Arizona. I love my school communinity and the kids, but the working environment has become too toxic for my own mental health. I applied for a position to teach English at a private school as well coaching the school's soccer team. Thankfully, my base salary will be the same as in the public school, but I am relinquishing Prop 301 bonuses and state retirement. I am excited for this fresh start, but I am still worried about the unkown. Any insight will help! Thoughts?
