Hello! My girlfriend of five years attended an extremely racist and homophobic school. Since the black lives matter movement started, alumni have been collecting stories about all of the horrible discrimination that they have faced at the school. We are at almost 200 submissions. I started a petition to shut the school down, which also has a link to the stories in the description.The petition can be found here. I was just wondering if there was any legal action we could take against the school considering that they are private- we have testimony of asking about sexual orientation during job interviews, silencing students of color, etc. The founder in the book that he wrote and that all students must read, justifies slavery because he said that they treated them well. My partner has had to go through a lot of trauma and healing as a result of this school, and we doubt they will actually change. Is there any action we could take?? Please let me know. I’m having trouble finding info on rights of students at these racist and homophobic institutions.
