I’ve hesitated on posting this because I know that so many others are also struggling to find work presently, but I’m at a loss of what to do.
I’ve been trying to get a remote based position with an education company for quite some time, and have in the last 3 months have applied to now 20 different positions with companies such as Kaplan, Pearson, McGraw Hill, and private online education and edtech providers. I have a science degree, as well as experience in education, research, management and customer service. I’ve put tremendous effort into my resume and cover letters and have been applying for predominantly entry/mid level positions such as in student support, admissions advising, enrollment support, editorial support, etc. just to get my foot in the door. I’ve had zero success in even getting an interview, even for positions I’ve been recommended for by someone I know in one of the companies.
I know the job market is at its worst, but I feel like at this point I must be doing something wrong and am hoping someone might have some advice on what more I can do, or elements I should emphasize in my applications to be picked up by what I presume are programs performing the initial applicant screenings.
