Women are missing in higher education

If you are a girl, or just so happen to know one personally, you have probably been told, overheard, or declared that she should become a teacher. Were you dreaming of high school or higher education? No so fast! Elementary was what society was getting at.

It appears that women are trapped in layers of boxes. Teaching is one of the few stereotypical career paths for women, but there is a glass ceiling here as well. A disproportionate number of women are in positions of higher education. The numbers are not a new trend but are rarely looked at. In this article I chose to look at the Biology and Education faculties of three universities; UF, USF, and UCF. Biology and Education, because both fields have a majority of college graduates that are women.

the tables do not bode well here. https://mattedition.com/women-are-missing-in-higher-educaton/

Attempting to put a spotlight on one of the many issues in society.
