Can I write a paper following a documentary? Plagiarism?

I want to write a research paper on health/diet and I found a documentary with some great info and sources. The documentary cites its sources too which seems great. If I use the documentary as kind of an “outline” for organization and use some of the sources is this plagiarism?? This is just a college writing course and it’s a 6 page research paper on any topic we want.
