Innovative might be the most overused word in education but I'm interested in hearing about any elementary schools in the US with an interesting curriculum or focus - private, traditional public, magnet or charter.
For instance, Star School in Arizona is focused on sustainability and it's student body is 99% Navajo which strongly influences the curriculum. Brightworks in San Francisco is in a giant warehouse and students are encouraged to do "dangerous" things. There is a 6th grade only school based in a zoo in Michigan.
What creative schools have you seen or heard about?
