Tips for fostering a positive relationship between teacher and two year old student?

Hi!

I'm an education coordinator at an early childhood center. One of my teachers is having a difficult time with a toddler student. The student has openly said that she does not like the teacher. She often gives the teacher a hard time and has even expressed violent thoughts towards the teacher (i.e. I'm going to scratch you / cut you). The teacher is very kind to the student and handles every situation appropriately. I have arranged for the child's teachers to discuss these concerns in with the parents in a conference, but I want to make sure we have a clear plan backed by research. I'm looking for any tips to help this child build a positive bond toward the teacher. Any professional experience and scholarly articles would be much appreciated.
