Hello! Idk if this is the right sub, but I have a question regarding what career path to take. I am currently in school taking me gen eds and by the end of this term (July 25th to be precise) I will have an associates to be a teacher assistant. I live in Illinois if it matters, and am looking into majoring either a bachelor's in early childhood education (to be a preschool teacher) but also love the idea of teaching art and like making art myself, the major for that is a bachelor's in art education for grades K-12. But a friend has told me that finding/keeping jobs in art education is hard and how those are the teachers to first get fired when cuts need to be made..... So I just want others input and/or experience. Thank you!!
