Am I making a mistake by wanting to change schools in my final two years of High school

I live in South Africa and have always had the chance to go to school in Ireland but it never appealed to me so I decided to stay in South Africa.

But a few weeks ago I was in Belgium where my dad is from and I really enjoyed my time there and decided that I would much rather go to school there and when I brought up the idea with my dad he was supportive of the idea but my mom said it makes no sense to change schools so late in my high school career and it will do nothing but set me back for university.

I know it seems like I have this unrealistic fantasy about changing schools but I do understand the short term consequences like having to adapt to a new curriculum and have to do things like make new friends and all that, but I fully believe I can get past that, the only thing is that I don’t even know if it’s even possible to move this late into my schooling and if it will have any long lasting negative affects, any advice would be appreciated.
