Amount of workload varying too drastically between schools in same school district

Hello reddit,

I have a question about a high school class I'm taking, AP US History. At my high school, the teachers give us an immense amount of work, including a large sum of index cards, packets, and copious notes. However, at another school in my same district, they are given no outside work whatsoever. To people who have already taken the class and how I see it, The work we are given does not help or benefit us for the AP exam or our End of Course exam in Texas. Is there anything I can do about this?
