non artist teaching an art class!

Teachers reading this,

I have been assigned an art class this year, and I have no background in art! I have an outline of themes I want to cover (our school very much focuses on first nations people and I worked in a first nations community last year). I guess what I'm asking for are ideas of projects my students can do. One unit I am covering is called "Creativity and the Self". Its a vague title I know, but this unit is really an opportunity for students to express themselves and how they feel, how they think. Any ideas of projects they can do? Or resources online to help me out with project ideas?!
