Poor education. Where should I start?

When I was in freshman year of high school, my family of 8 was between being evicted from houses due to being unable to pay rent, and by the time I was 16 we were completely homeless. I had no education for most of my high school age. At 19 when we found a place to be, I went and got my GED, so I could start working. I have since been working full-time, but have only been able to start saving money this year.

A goal that I have is to be able to study architecture in Barcelona. I understand that this will take a lot of money, and I am in the process of saving as much as possible and learning the language. I need to know where to start.

Since I kind of had very little education after 14, I don't really know how the system works here, let alone in Spain. Should I start looking for classes to take here to prepare myself? Will a program in Spain be something that I will be able to keep up with? What measures should I take over the next year or so to prepare myself to move to Spain and study, and what would be the most cost efficient way?

I know very little about this but it is a dream that I believe I can realize.
