why is the curriculum incorrect by design? joe sixpack may be able to function with a diploma but he only knows part of the truth?

I understand school has a curriculum set by the state due to the 10th amendment but why are teachers required to teach to the test. what could possibly go wrong if students especially in southern states were taught the truth like this one time slaves were called workers
