I am not affiliated with any members of BARWE nor do I directly benefit from anyone joining. I am white.

This is a group which started in Philly a few years ago and is intended for white educators like myself to learn from and teach to each other about racism, civil rights, and how to fight the good fight against racism.

Most teachers in the US are white. Black teachers cannot fight racism by themselves. We need to fight it. It is a white problem, not a black problem. Our community needs to fight racism.

BARWE just announced a summer reading program over two different books. Besides holding national meetings over these two books, BARWE enables us to form local chapters at our schools and go over all of the old material they have gone through the past few years.

It is past time to take a stand. This is one way to do it.
