Honest question: Where are the unions in leading educators to form OUR response to the pandemic?

There has never been a more important time for teachers to come together and lead the country in what education should look like. Our lives are literally at risk and we are the ones that see the inequities of what we can provide for our students. Where are the unions in this? Why am I not being bombarded by calls to action and information and reports on their actions? Seeing them on the news every day this week in response to DeVos' "little outbreaks may happen" nonsense?

And if the unions are not the institutions they should be, helping us to unite and work collectively to gain our rightful place in this conversation, how do we do it without them?
