What is a honours degree? What is a specialization degree? Are they both the same? And is CGPA an important factor for the eligibility? (w.r.t. B. Tech) ?

I am really confused about the following. We were offered specialization in Machine Learning last December, but my grades are not up to mark, which removes my eligibility. And right now, in between the pandemic, we were offered a Honours degree. Is honours and specialization one and the same thing? And is it true that marks will limit me from participating in this?
