How did you know you wanted to truly pursue Elementary Education?
I am a junior in college and soon to be a senior. I am pursuing Speech therapy; however, I feel that I would rather be there in class with the children rather than one-on-one sessions. I would like to leave Speech language Pathology because science is not my strongest subject. Frankly, I am more drawn to linguistics than linguistics being paired with science. Math and science in general are not what I am trying to pursue. As an Elementary Ed teacher I know this may be something I will have to teach....
Another thing I worry about is money....I worry that as a teacher I will not make enough to support a family in the future. I know this is not true in all the cases but, I cannot make below 40K for the sake of moving out and starting my own life in the near future. If I pursue a master's in this discipline would the pay be a little higher? Should I consider acquiring other certificates? Should I consider getting other education degrees with this?
Where in the world are good places to teach that will provide at least 40K or more a year?
Thank you for reading my post.
