I experienced a great deal of physical abuse as well as bullying after being transferred to an alternate provision.

I was first placed in an alternative provision for a six-week period during which I endured severe physical abuse and bullying. One student even threatened me with a knife in the school kitchen, and the teacher did nothing but watch. Things got worse until the day I was to be released from the alternative provision, at which point they decided to severely beat me.

The following week, I went back to my regular school, where I was met with a lot of high hopes. Because of the trauma, I was unable to function normally and was falling behind in my studies. Eventually, my principal had enough and decided to send me back to a different alternative provision, but the abuse and bullying continued to the point where I had to be hospitalised.

Alternative provisions usually has gang members and violent bullies that attend I witnessed teens smuggling drugs and weapons into the schools and gang members loitering after school to pick up their friends. I used to skip school since the atmosphere made learning too dangerous for me, as violent bullies and members of gangs frequented those establishments.
