Why would triple science subjects not be given a grade on the first report with GCSE predicted grades before Christmas?

England. My child’s report is missing triple science subjects grades and this is not a case in everyone’s reports apparently. Apparenty a child in school has been told by a teacher that this is because of where some people live or what background they’re from… This doesn’t make sense to me and the child must have misunderstood. We live in what is considered a ‘better/more afluent’ area but also are not British- in case this influenced lack of grades… would someone know? Would
