A sophomore in high schools view on education and why it's failing

I'm a sophomore in high school and I noticed the flaws of the education system about the end of my first semester in freshman year. Every student learns a bunch of useless class that they're forced to take. For example, I'm forced to learn biology which I have no interest in. I dread going to that class every single day. This is about the same for all of my classes but history and part of English. Politicians (and parents) wonder why kids are depressed (I'm not btw) in school and that's their answer why. People who go to technical school are having a better time in my opinion because they're doing something they have a passion for. Extra curricular classes are the answer for that in high school. I'm in a video production class and I've developed a passion for video production. I think part of the political agenda in education needs to be to get schools to focus on what kids like rather than have them attend useless classes that they'll forget what they learn after a day and dread going to. This is my view on it. Anyone else agree or disagree?
