Any idea for my seminar topic?

so today in my school started a seminar and my scientific-ish paper needs to be about something which fits in this description:

"The seminar aims to look at darkness in literature, politics, social science and the history of Spain and South America."

So do you guys have any idea of a feasible topic with some scientific backup I could write of?
