Hi, I am hoping to go into School Counseling, and for my personal statement wanted to prove that I have invested interest in understanding the empirical side of promoting positive outcomes for K-12 youth.
I'm sure human development, and understanding it through an academic and empirical lense would be beneficial, but I do not know where to start. Are there any reading suggestions from a comprehensive standpoint on this subject from academics with esteemed research in this area that I can draw from?
Feel free to note any asides on criticism of said theories and research that may be bubbling under the surface throughout the academic community if there is further research I can investigate.
