(UK) What happens if an entire college class fails?

With the exam in my computer science course happening within the next 24 hours, scrambling has amassed throughout the class, to put it bluntly, the way we have been taught is unbelievable, we have been given incredibly limited resources and not even told our exam board until 2 weeks prior to the exam (all we were told was our spec was new) with this new information of our exam board, the first thing the class did was to take to the net to find any streamlined book with topic information, only to find out that our teacher had not taught us three whole modules.

Up until now, the only resources we have had has been power point presentations placed online that were, to say the least, lacking in content, the lessons for the past 6 months have been to simply "study" meaning we have been given 2 hours of free time to study, an actual lesson has not taken place for months, so, we have all realised, odds are, the entire class will fail.

If this does happen, what can we do, are we forced to just take the fail or will the teacher receive some form of punishment?
