Question about education research

Hey all. So I've never looked at any education research papers, but I've been wondering, what percentage of education research is only done in the classroom? In college there was so much cheating going on so I would find any/all research that has only been done in the classroom to be useless. Along with my first question, I guess I'll also ask, should I not be so skeptical of education research that has only been done in the classroom?
