I'm going to a relatively small program at a top-ten school in the US for my MS. Or rather, I thought I was. The class selection was released, and it turns out this program - which I explained during my interview I would need to attend part-time as I work professionally in a demanding 9-5 - has no evening classes at all. Not a single core class (the ones I need to graduate) are offered outside of work hours, and any class I take would demand I modify my work schedule.
I'm not sure what they were thinking when they told me that their part time program accommodates professionals, but it was bullshit, and I expected better from one of the best schools in the country. I'm not really sure what I should do at this point. I suppose I can approach my boss and see if there's a way for me to work early/late to match my hours and accommodate grad school, but more than anything I'm a bit pissed that they offered a program as part-time and assured me that it was manageable, without offering a single evening class.
Does anyone have any advice for handling situations like this?
