What are some careers in education that focus on literacy?

I am looking to transition into a field in education that primarily focuses on promoting literacy.

As an ELA teacher you would think this would be the perfect spot but I can only work with middle school and or high school students in that core subject.

I want to do this focused job but with elementary students without the other subjects tied. I want encourage young readers to read and work with an age group that hasn’t yet been smashed by the education system.

What career options are there? I’ve seen reading specialist but not many schools have one. I’ve though about being a librarian but I’m afraid of the job being diminished and I still want to work with kids.

I just feel like there are some hidden jobs out there that aren’t laid out when you hit a goodly search.
