Please read to the end. Due to bullying, which teachers didn't have the time or energy to properly address, my mental health went downhill quickly in middle school. This made it hard for me to have the motivation to do my homework. I had always been pressured by the adults around me to keep my grades up, but I couldn't, and that led to a lot of self-hate. I tried and tried and tried, but my anxiety and depression drained my energy too much. I'm out of school now, but the anxiety and self-hate fed by bullying and shame over grades is something I still haven't recovered from. Is there anything being done in the education world to reduce the pressure on students and give teachers more room to properly address bullying, so others don't have to go through the same things I went through?
