I'm getting into college in a few months and I still can't decide whether I should get into school of biotechnology or medicine. I'm looking for a career in research (preferably medical research, tho I'm still interested in the rest), bearing in mind that I live in a 3rd world country, I'm trying to figure out which school would guarantee me better chances at finding jobs in the research field. Where would I have broader options? Which would make me more experienced and skilled?
My issue with medicine is that I don't want to be a doctor and I'm not so interested in the clinical aspect of it, but if it's better for research then I don't mind it, you know? I'm also afraid I'll end up being a doctor if the college I go to doesn't focus on research. However, I could see this as an advantage if the whole research career thing fails and I need a good job.
If you have any personal experiences please do share. If there's something I can read or something I can do to help me make a decision and learn more about this please share
