Uni / high school in USA, bachelor vs master

Hi

Could someone explain me how bachelors degree is valued compared to masters degree in United States?

In my country so called occupational degrees (e.g. nurse) are usually bachelors. This can be continued to masters but it’s practically useless and waste of time (+2 years, no difference in income).

Science degrees (e.g. M.D.) are pushed to at least masters, some to doctorate. Not achieving masters degree in uni is considered a failure and you do nothing with bachelors degree in work life.
