COVID ACT Results are going to be... covid for the next few years

There will be larger variation in ACT scores this year and in the next few years as a result of virtual learning (you can figure out why, right?) There should be a “normalization of variation” that occurs (maybe). This will happen when students apply to colleges and colleges find lower ACT scores. If the ACT tests are normalized every year- and assuming the score will be lower on average due to covid- the test will decrease in difficulty. When school resumes, students will regain the losses in ACT aptitude, and suddenly the “easier” ACT will yield higher than base normal averages (because of the lower test questions). Just one avenue.

The ACT will have lower scores this year than ever in its history, though it is normalized yearly to differentiate clearly.
