What is your experience with Montessori Education?

I'm pursuing a career in education and considering getting into the administrative side of Montessori schooling.

I've read a couple of Maria Montessori's books and dabbled in some of the websites dedicated to it.

What is your experience with Montessori education? What were the pros and what were the cons? I'd really like to hear what the culture and expectations for staff are. I understand this can vary from school to school.

Any input from staff or (former) students is appreciated!
