I am a school board member and my wife is a teacher. In talking to her, it seems like there are frequently new methods, ideas, and strategies for teaching. It seems like every year something changes in the way we approach teaching or classroom management.
If our methods have gotten us to where we are now, what kind of incremental improvements are we hoping to gain from changing our methods so frequently?
I am not saying we shouldn't work towards continuous improvement but rather we don't need change for change sake. Much of what I've seen is change for change' sake.
Teachers of reddit, why am I right or wrong?
