I'm bad at writing, will I make it in college?

In advice, I want to clarify that I live in Europe and the school system in my country is quite different when compared to the school system in the USA so if you hear something that is different to what you're used to it's because of the school system. I'm 18 years old and graduating high school in 2 weeks with incredibly good grades in all of my classes. I chose to "major" in science, so my classes were mostly scientific such as physics, chemistry, geology, math and cosmology. This led to me barely doing any writing at all, only when it came to making reports after a lab experiment in physics or chemistry. However, this last semester I decided to take a psychology class as well and I started doing phenomenal and I'm at the top of the class with straight A's at the moment.

To my demise though, I'm at the point of the class where I have to make a 6 page essay with citations which I'm not familiar with. That's when I realized that I'm actually not that good at writing and how that probably will screw me when I enter college in about a year from now. I've heard that writing plays a big part of being able to succeed in college.

I've written the introduction to my essay and I asked my "nerdy" friend to look at it for me and if he sees anything wrong with it. He said that it was solid work but not in the way that he would write it. He actually rewrote the whole introduction again and showed me how he would've written it. When I read his version I became a little jealous of how his vocabulary is much better than mine, making the introduction incredibly professional and that's when I fully took notice of my problem. My Icelandic vocabulary is not advanced at all. The structure of the introduction and the whole idea is good, but the vocabulary is what I'm missing and is potentially destroying my writing capabilities.

I think a factor in this is also that I don't read books at all, all I read comes from the internet and 95% of the time in English.

What can I do to better myself before I go to college? Am I screwed? I feel like this is something you should've developed when you were much younger and not 18. My vocabulary isn't horrendous and could definitely provide me with a 70-80% maybe but I don't know if it would go much higher than that. Any advice?
