I would like to state how miserable I am while writing this. Living in Ontario, I always question and keep questioning (since I started high school) this whole universal dilemma that's surrounding me where everything is homogeneous and is expected by people who turn the system for their own sake. It is not where people can talk about this because they simply don't know or have time to discuss other than being part of the classroom or the outback. Your work, is purely subjective by your teachers and there's nothing you can do to it. Even a thing we call a rubric (regardless if it has an any effect to your uni or high school diploma) is insignificant because they don't define who you are. Yes, we all know this, but it keeps going for 4 years of your life while you're becoming an adult and it's not under your control. You are and can be more talented than you can imagine regardless whether you're "mature" or not. It's as if there's no room for existentialism simply because teenagers don't seem to follow it in the first place (which baffles me since they ironically are following expectations like everyone else). As a person who grew up cynical and pondering about life, I had dreams to stay away from what they expect me to have good marks and would rather program code with my friend (often), draw, have more time reading interesting books (generally, I would like to do many things in my life. Learning new information is a natural thing for humans), etc.
I give up because there's no time, there's nothing I could do while there are other courses that I'm expected to follow. You just be a robot everyday (except for the weekends of course ... not really). The way things seem so surreal when you answer opinionated questions or whether Hamlet was sane or insane have no point. As long as they have no absolute answers, they're simply unanswerable. Why are we doing this? Unfortunately, once you realize this, you will have no hope to cope the "reality" of the class other than to reflect yourself like this while the staffs mark the right number to prepare your graduation while they do a good job and let you get the hell out of here. I'm disgusted by how my life is going through. They say that we should keep doing this and there's no answer as to give reason to "I guess you can ask the government, they're doing this whole thing?". I reject that theory. I believe that everything around me has a reason to happen because the individuals who do this have intentions to do so. Do they have any moral basis if they do provide so? If it is to prevent chaos, why can't we be more progressive?
It's inevitable. It's such a universal thing and there is no one to ask why simply because they claim that it'll be better for us to get a decent freaking job.
Why are we going through this? What is the reason for all this mess?
(This has been unanswered for so long and is something that I want to know or else my disgust at high school will stay intact forever).
Edit: For those who ask what I may be doing after high school, I have charted out many options, one being a programmer (software engineer), animator, polyglot, and so on. I currently couldn't list out all due to the time of this writing (midnight).
Thank you for reading. A reply is highly appreciated.
