So, I want to get an MA in lit to teach English lit better at secondary school but the thing is, I want to study abroad, preferably in a non-primarily English speaking country. Since English lit programs abroad are probably not that great - since they're directed to non-native English speakers -, I was thinking my options were either comparitive lit or lit on the language of the country I want to be in. These programs though may have a downside I'm not able to tolerate, which is not making me learn enough to teach English lit well. Sure there are some general principles in literature teaching but I can't stop thinking that in my lessons I'll have to tell kids what were the trends of English lit and who the main authors are. I don't think I'm gonna be able to tell that if studying in a program that is not focused on English, but I so want to be abroad, which means I don't know what to do.
