Do most schools have a culture of teachers showing off about all the PD they are planning to do over the summer?

At my school — which talks endlessly about self-care — it is almost as if I should feel guilty for wanting a summer spent recharging my battery by enjoying my own family.

A large part of our final staff meeting was spent letting teachers and especially admin talk about all the amazing Professional Development events they are going to do over the summer.

It feels like an invidious sort of overwork culture that doesn’t value the effort required to just make it through a normal school year.
