Hello,
I am currently a special education teacher. Many of my students receive OT and speech therapy in my class. I have decided I want to learn more about those professions to enhance my instruction. Basically I want to understand more about occupational therapy and speech therapy so I can naturally weave stuff into my curriculum. I saw an OT textbook about working with infants through adolescents and a speech textbook about it working with infants through adolescents. I do not have a lot of extra money to buy these textbooks. I bought them but the older editions. I am sure there is newer research out there in these topics but I am hoping I am still able to learn something to assist my students.
Do you feel like purchasing these older edition books will give information that is obsolete? I am not taking a class. I just want to be more well rounded as an educator so I can bridge my instruction with some of the services my students are already receiving!
