I have not seen this discussed in an education thread yet, and I'm curious. While educators aren't the target audience, you cannot disconnect educators from this story--yet the podcast largely does.
Personally, as a non-NYC educator, I find the story interesting, and I am glad I listened. I also found it very one-sided, and the voices and commentary excluded (such as the principal's role in the PTA debacle) is SCATHING. I could go on, but I'd really like to hear from others.
All in all, I'd give it about a 3.5, as eye-opening and interesting piece that leaves a lot of the story untold. thread but since there are so many trolls down-voting it, I feel bad putting that.
What am I missing, though? What'd other people takeaway?
