Hi all,
I am a new graduate with an undergraduate degree in education and psychology and am currently working full-time in an elementary school. Because of my undergraduate GPA, I recently got an invite from my college to apply for a Postgraduate Assistantship Scholarship in the US (I’m from Ireland). This scholarship would involve a research Masters in Education within a chosen specialism.
Just looking for some advice about how to craft a really good application. In our education system, we don’t have to write applications to college so I have no idea how to craft a really good application that hits all the points that the reader will want to see.
The headings of the application…
-
Key experiences and achievements during your degree programme, elucidating your personal philosophy of education and how you integrated theory and practice during your degree programme
-
How education research informed your understanding of teaching and learning
-
How you envisage the scholarship would impact on your future career in education
-
How you expect to contribute to the education postgraduate community in --- University.
I’m not trying to ask anyone to write the application for me! I am just wondering if there are key pieces of information I should really nail in the application and that would make me stand out from the rest of the applications, particularly headings 3 and 4. Side note: All tuition would be paid for on the condition that the successful candidate works for the college a certain number of hours per week.
Many, many thanks for any help or advice!!!
Tl;dr What are some things I should really be including in an application for a Postgraduate Assistantship Scholarship in a research masters of education programme?
