Child Tax Credits and Grades

Would tying parents receiving child tax credits with their kids’ performance improve test scores and their behavior in school?

Parents of struggling kids would receive higher tax credit but ultimately make it the government’s decision and base it upon standardized tests where a third party grades the students.

Creating caps on income and amount that can be received. But I can see so much workaround especially if it comes to be jumps in improvement. Parents will tell their kids to do poorly then improve so that they can get more money.

Hopefully teachers would not face even more harassment. They will still get some blame but calling it the parental accountability initiative or something will let parents know that this was created to get them involved in their kids education and behavior at school.

Some public shame needs to come with this.
