Hey everyone,
I work at a charter school in NYC, and lately our enrollment numbers have dropped really low. Because of that, staff are now being asked to canvas in neighborhoods to try and get new families to sign up. It feels like there’s a lot of pressure since the low enrollment is also leading to people being let go.
This is a bit outside of what I signed up for, so I’m looking for advice: • What are some good areas or strategies for canvassing in NYC specifically for schools? • How do I approach families in a way that feels natural and not pushy? • Any tips on balancing this with my regular workload so it doesn’t become overwhelming?
If anyone has experience doing this kind of outreach—or knows other creative ways charter schools boost enrollment—I’d really appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance!
