Anyone else feel like standardized tests measure memorization more than real thinnking??

Every time i see standardized testing, it feels like...its all about cramming facts instead of showing real understanding. Critical thinking+problem solvving....even creativity barely get measured.

If we really wanted to assess learning, what woulda better system look like??
