I have a Kindergartner and a 6th Grader and it seems Like their school and the district is really pushing Zoom and synchronous material over asynchronous or prerecorded content. It seems they are making an effort to reproduce a normal school day as opposed to catering the content to the medium.
From my experience, the asynchronous content works better particularly for the 5 year old because it self paced, there is less pressure involved, and more project based and less prone to technical issues like connectivity.
Has anyone seen any research to back this up and how would I go about dealing with this synchronous content when my 5 year old refuses to engage? I would prefer my kid have a positive attitude towards his teacher and school when we eventually return to in person.
