How do the GCSE maths (and further maths) compare to the American curriculum?

I understand that the American system separated mathematical topics and students are made to study that topic for the entire semester, while the British GCSE touches on many things over the course of 2 years (Grade 9 and 10). I started calculus in GCSE, but heard that American students don’t touch calculus until Grade 11/12.

Also I didn’t know how to flair this - curriculum wise, this is exactly that, but I am not the teacher here haha
